KLONDIKE, CPA Central Headquarters – After almost 11 years of armies, Club Penguin is expected to shut down later this month, which will officially mean the end of CP Armies.
As you all may know, the topic of Club Penguin has been dominating our minds for the past month. It has been announced, in a blog post by Megg, that Club Penguin will be shutting down on March the 29th which is now only weeks away. Many armies including the Nachos, Army Republic and Doritos have confirmed that they will be closing their doors once CP ends its virtual world. Armies like the Rebel Penguin Federation and the Army of CP may be moving to a Club Penguin Private server such as cpps.me.
Today is March the 5th which means there is only 25 days until the CPA community ends. Many members of this community will still continue to chat on xat whilst others will leave their friends behind permanently and will go and get a life.
Of course, we are not going to just bow out of armies just like that, we are going to bow out in style. Many armies have already scheduled their final events, most notably, the Army Republic final battle, many armies have also scheduled reunions and other parties to have a chance to catch up with old troops before they part ways. The final tournament, the Legends Cup ‘End of an era’ is also going well and many armies have aimed to win this tournament to form their final part of the history books.
With armies ending in weeks, there has also been a lot of hype going around. Many old retirees from the Ice Warriors and Doritos have returned to help their army for their final generation. We also see the return of many legendary armies such as the Shadow Troops. We also see many old faces popping back up such as Iceyfeet, 122344a, Wwebestfan and many more.
As armies prepare for the end, CPA Central has also been getting ready for these final days. We have done a complete revamp of the armies and leaders page which now contain over 100+ armies. We are also in the process of updating the legends, about and history pages. These pages will serve as a ‘memorial’ where people can look back at all the great moments that this community had. The Bluesockwas brothers will also be releasing a statement in the next couple of weeks regarding the future of the site, whether CPA Central shuts down or not.
Of course, it’s going to be difficult saying goodbye to all your friends and your army. People have been in this community for years, dedicating hours each day, making so many new friends and now to see all that go is heart breaking. But, you know what they say, all good things must come to an end.
